The Queen Jadwiga Foundation Inc. (QJF) was established in Australia by prof. Zbigniew Les and mgr Magdalene Les in the year 2000, on the occasion of the 600th Anniversary of refunding of the Jagiellonian University. The aims of the Queen Jadwiga Foundation are, among others, promoting the interdisciplinary scientific research, not contradictory to the Christian values, publishing scientific journals and books, and promoting people characterized by attributes such as kindness, wisdom, strength of character and personal sacrifice which were characteristic to St. Jadwiga Queen of Poland.  The Queen Jadwiga Foundation is dedicated to promoting the cultural activities in music and visual arts, educational and cultural exchanges between nations and increasing understanding of European and Polish culture and history.

Honorary members of QJF are, among others, Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz, prof. Tadeusz Gromada and a Nobel Laureate prof. Frank Wilczek.

All QJF activities are inspired by the life and achievements of our Patron St. Jadwiga Queen.

The QJF Art&Science Gallery, a part of the QJF activities, is the result of research in image understanding and aesthetic evaluation. Among others, a several exhibitions were organized in Melbourne to present works of art from the QJF Art&Science Gallery.

 

QJF Press is dedicated to publishing books with the unique graphic design that follows the way of illustrating of the illuminated manuscripts.

 

Queen Jadwiga’s Trail is an attempt to identify and show places (e.g. cities, towns, monasteries, churches) which St. Jadwiga Queen visited or most probably visited.

 

St Queen Jadwiga's Research Institute of Understanding (SQJRIU). SQJRIU carries out the research on machine understanding - a new area of research established by prof. Zbigniew Les.

 

QJF organizes the series of lectures “QJF Lectures” in which the best thinkers and scientists presents theirs point of views on the most important issue of the European culture.

 

Each year, on June the 8th, St. Queen Jadwiga’s Festive Day, the little pearl awards are given to laureates of the St. Jadwiga’s Queen pearl competition. Among laureates, there are Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz, Cardinal Franciszek Macharski, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, and Sister Wendy Beckett.
